When we got back from vacation we had some friends come and ease us back into real life. It is so nice to have such great friends just a short drive away.
We spent a day at the beach. It was cold at first but it turned into a beautiful day.
Unfortunately when the sun did come out it was not very nice to our visitors skin :(
This is Emma before she "got swept out to sea." (That is how she describes it.) There was a pretty strong rip tide that day and she was playing with a new friend and they got out farther than they realized. They were having a hard time getting back to shore when I heard Emma start calling for help. Luckily there were two boys about 10 years old who were close enough to swim over and let the girls have their boogie boards so that they could get back to shore. Emma was a little shaken up but a healthy dose of reality is good for her because sometimes she is too brave from her own good.
I did not get my camera out much which I am really disappointed about but I did get a couple of the kids eating dinner one night.
Some things never change and I am so glad.
On the last day of
Angies visit we got a visit from our friends the
Palmers who were passing through on their way to Utah. It was so nice to visit together and be reminded how blessed I have been in my life to have GREAT friends. I am so glad Angie was able to visit. We did not do much other than eat, chat, and referee our kids but sometimes those are the best kinds of visits.
