Tagged Again!

I have been tagged by Jordan

My favorites

Book: I use to read all the time but I don't let myself read much anymore because I am not a very responsible reader. My favorite lately is Twilight by Stephanie Meyer. I don't know why but I was totally sucked in. My sister read it last month and it restarted my obsession and I am trying to convince myself that I DO NOT need to read it again.
Movie: Return to Me I love the music and the crazy mismatched clothes that she wears that somehow look so good together.
Color: Brown, Blue and Green together, I am still trying to finish a quit for our bed with those colors but I will probably be lucky if I have it done before Trevor graduates.
TV shows: The Amazing Race. If I did not have kids I would totally try out but I would miss my girls tooooo much.
Guilty Pleasures: Afternoon naps while Abby is sleeping and Emma is not home from school, almost nightly a scoop of ice cream, and Miss America Reality Check (I know I am pathetic)
Outfit: Anything comfy...it want to be trendy but I don't have the time or the money.
Body part: My hands...I use to really not like my hands, I thought they looked like skeleton fingers but then I realized how grateful I am for my hands and how hard life would be without them and they really have become my favorite part of me.
Kitchen tip: Hmmmm, I am stumped with this one. With the amount of time I spend in the kitchen I should have some but I don't. Someone help me!
Life lesson: Make time for your family. I really does not matter what you are doing as long as you are having fun doing it together.
Activity: By myself sewing, with my family playing games.
Food: ice cream, ice cream, ice cream...you get the idea
Child raising tip: Make time every day to spend time with each of your kids one on one. It does not have to be a long time but it makes all the difference.
Pet peeve: Lateness
Game: Settlers of Catan
Tattoo: Never, I don't even like the ones that they give to my kids at the zoo.
Element: Water, I love to listen the waves crash at the beach and I love the feeling of floating on the water.
I tag Heather, Lindsay, Karina, Holly Sanders, and Lynnette.

A Trip to D.C

We finally made it to the temple. It was a long day but worth it. Our girls are amazing and they did so well (much better than their grumpy mom). After the baby sitting swap at the church next door so we could do a session (thank you Clayton's) the girls wanted to go over and see the temple. It was a cold day but the girls just wanted to stay outside and look at the temple. Abby kept calling the angel Moroni on the top of the temple Captain Moroni which I thought was really cute.
When we finally talked the girls into going the visitors center one of the sister missionaries sat then down and talked to them about Jesus. She asked them how they feel Jesus love and Emma said "When I do nice things for others." It melted my heart. They loved to sit in front of the statue of Christ and listen to the little presentation that they do.
Their favorite thing by far is the statue of Christ. I love that they can go right up to it and touch it and look at it. We had a nice day and we are so grateful for the blessing that the temple brings into our lives.

Finally Some Snow!!!

The exclamation points in the title of this blog are for the excitement my girls felt about the white cold stuff falling from the sky. I am not a big fan although I do have to say that the two times it has snowed this year have really been my kind of snow (if there is such a thing)...it snows, the kids play in it and then it melts the very next day. I had a meeting last week and Trevor being the great dad that he is and a crazy snow enthusiast took the girls out in the snow. They made a pretty good snow man, complete with carrot noes and M&M eyes (yes he used my precious treats to decorate the snow guy). Unfortunately I did not get to see the snow man still standing when I came home because as soon as Trevor turned his back Abby toppled the snowman. Good thing I got to look at such a cute picture.
My snow bunny. Emma would live in Alaska if she could. As soon as a single flake starts to fall she is glued to the window BEGGING me to let her go outside and play in it. She never gets cold and really she loves it.
Abby is a little more like me. She gets cold really fast. Emma's enthusiasm for the snow makes Abby so excited and really it is hard to not get excited when I see how much fun they are having. It makes the snow almost bearable...but I still really miss feeling the sun on my face. Good thing winter does not last forever.
