28 Week Update

We have had a big week. We have done the unexpected and some said impossible. We have hit the 28 week mark. Even though we have known for a while that Kyle would be fine whenever he chose to make his grand entrance it is still nice to have 28 weeks working in his favor. Nothing much has changed over the last two weeks. I did get to go outside yesterday for the first time in 4 weeks. We took a stroll around the block in a wheelchair. Even the Center City air felt good after 4 weeks of being inside. Other big milestones that have happened in the last week include Trevor finally taking the BOARDS!!! We are so glad to have them behind us. We won’t know how he did for several weeks but the feeling of relief is so great that I don’t even care. Emma turned 6 last Wednesday and she seemed to have a great day. She got new roller skates and it was funny watching her try them out in my hospital room. She is cursed with my lack of coordination but at least she is determined to keep trying. When my stay in the hospital is over I will try to post some pictures from her day and maybe by then there will be a video of Emma on her new wheels. Thank you all again for all your love and support. We could not do any of this without all of the help that we have received. We love you all.

As you can see from the above picture 2 weeks of bedrest and hospital food have given me a belly. Today we hit the 26 week mark! This is a big milestone for a lot of reasons. The long term outlook for Kyle is getting better every day. He still continues to amaze the doctors. Every test that they have done has shown that despite the odds against him he is growing perfectly. The fluid level around him is back to 3 but he continues to move constantly and has a strong heartbeat. My nurse today was bragging to all the other nurses about how good his heart rate was on the monitor, it even included some accelerations which you usually don’t see until after 28 weeks. Life in the hospital is not the most exciting thing that I have ever done but the results are going to be well worth it. Thank you to everyone who has taken care of my girls and fed my family. It is so much easier to stay in the hospital knowing that my family is well taken care of. We could not do any of this without our amazing friends. We are hoping for a few more weeks but we are so grateful that we have made it this far. Thank you all again and we love you.
