Late Update (25 weeks and 3 days)

Okay, I am finally updating you. I am not a pro and I must apologize for not doing this. We saw Tamar tonight and she has been asking me to update the blog for the last week. Tamar has been in the hospital for almost two weeks. She has ruptured and they started by giving her antibiotics for a week. She is doing well...handling living in a hospital rather well...much better than I would. Kyle is healthy and he is showing good signs. They monitor his heart a few times a day and he is showing signs of good development. The other day, a nurse overheard the doctors discussing Tamar and Kyle. One of the doctors said, "I have a feeling about this baby...I think he will beat the odds." I am sorry to leave some of you in the dark. They are both healthy and will be twenty six weeks on Friday. That will be a huge step. The doctors gave no hope of making it this far. We have talked about miracles and know that this is one. Things are good. The girls sure miss their mom, but we really look forward to our nightly visit. I hope this answers some questions...if not you can email Tamar and we will supply answers. We are grateful for your thoughts and prayers. Please continue as they are working.

23 Weeks

This week has been good. I had a doctor appointment on Wednesday and on the ultrasound we were able to see 2 pockets of fluid around Kyle instead of just the one. When they did the measurement the fluid had almost doubled from the week before. The doctors are still extremely cautious because the total amount is still severely low but I am grateful that our prayers are being answered. I am now at what is considered the extreme edge of viability (which if anyone can think of another word for that I would love to hear it). Meaning that if I delivered right now there is a small chance that the baby could make it. Of course we are praying for many more weeks but we were never suppose to make it this far so we are grateful for our miracle. When we told the girls about the fluid level increasing Emma said "That is a miracle!" and she is right. I have been grateful that the girls get a chance to see faith and prayers work in our family. I love hearing their sweet simple prayers when they ask that the baby will be all right and have more fluid. They seem to ask with such an assurance that they are being heard. They are very good examples. We are so grateful to everyone for their faith and prayers and we still need them! We love you all.

Abby's Bwankie

It looks like Abby's blanket has seen better days! It was the very first blanket that I ever made so it is pretty amazing that it has lasted this long, especially when you consider that she twists the corners and chews on them. This has been happening for a while and I even started to buy fabric to make her a new one but now she is just going to have to wait until I can get back to my sewing machine. About five minutes after this picture was taken the blanket finally split. I thought that Abby would cry but I think that she was just happy to have two blankets.
She really does love her "bwankie"!

Kids Race

So I am finally going to try to catch up. About two weeks ago one of our friends out here organized a race for all of our kids. There was a "real" race downtown that we told our kids about and they got really excited and then the more that we thought about it the more we decided that we did not want to pay $10 a kids and fight traffic for a race that would last 20 seconds. This race turned out to be really fun and the kids did not know the difference. Here is Emma with her race number on. I thought that it was cute that the kids looked so official.
Well as soon as we got there Abby decided that she needed to go potty. Of course there were no facilities available. Trevor took her behind a building to do her business but as soon as here pants were down she peed all over them. We did not have a change of clothes so Trevor did his best to rinse out her clothes with a water bottle. That is true love.

22 weeks

I wish that I could call everyone individually for updates but because that is just not possible I am grateful for the blessings of technology. I am 22 weeks today and things are pretty much the same. At my appointment this week the fluid level around Kyle has not changed but he is still looking healthy and moving a ton. The kid has a mind of his own! I am suppose to go in and see a high risk doctor next week at one of the bigger hospitals downtown and get their take on things. Bed rest is starting to get to me but I would do anything to make this pregnancy continue even a few more weeks so me and the bed/couch/recliner are getting to be good friends. I am so grateful for the outpouring of love and support that we have felt from all of our friends and family. This situation would be impossible without all the help that we have received. Please keep the prayers coming. Ours center around Kyle having enough fluid to continue to grow and develop. At this time more than probably any other in my life I am grateful for the gospel and for my testimony. I have found great comfort in the scriptures and in the power of prayer. I know that I have so much to be thankful for and I know that the Lord is mindful of me and my family. He has ALWAYS taken care of us and I know that this situation is no exception. We are expecting miracles. Thank you all for everything!
